Question

What is the home page?

Home is the flagship of this whole effort and the page the owner actively dislikes. Today home.tpl is a hero with a missing image removed by an onerror handler, a dead status strip, several paragraphs of lore, four identical entry cards all pointing at the wiki, and a news list. It reads as a template waiting for art that is not coming.

Per the map, home is a framed board — what is happening in the world right now, plus the way in — not a cinematic splash.

Resolve, and prototype in the live stack:

  • Block inventory and order: news, dev blog, server status, join path, wiki entry, community. What is above the fold when there is no art.
  • What replaces the hero. It still has to say what this is to a stranger in one glance, without a picture.
  • How much lore stays. There are currently five paragraphs and a pull quote on the front page; decide what home owes a first-time visitor versus what belongs on a setting page.
  • The four entry cards: they currently point at the same destination three times. Decide the real first-visit paths.
  • Where the status slot sits and how it composes with everything else, using the contract from its own ticket.
  • Art slots: dimensions, treatment, and what the block looks like empty — which is the state it will actually ship in.
  • Whether logged-in and logged-out home differ, since a returning player and a stranger want different things.

Compose from the named ornament components; do not invent new chrome here. Prototype on a throwaway branch, look at it, link it.
